N!X

A celebrity event to raise money for Alzheimer’s.

Alzheimer’s is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States. 5.8 million Americans are living with the disease By 2050 this number is projected to rise to nearly 14 million Americans.

Harrington Discovery Institute at University Hospitals is dedicated to furthering life-saving drug development to fight disease. We were asked to name and identify their fundraising event and lay the foundation for donor and event marketing.

We brainstormed a wide range of possible names for the celebrity hosted event and evolved them into a handful of logo concepts.

We landed on N!X, a short but commanding name that inspires action. Its logo is simple and smart, taking cues from protest style art. Letterforms are loud and speak with a sense of urgency.

From there, we evolved the mark into a brand. We flushed out a brand guide—establishing styles to direct the Institute staff on day-to-day usage of the logo, color palette, supporting typography and imagery. Included was a pitch deck for committee members to use to recruit hosts and sponsors. We designed a “mini site” that translated the brand into web.
