Public Square
The People's Park.
In the spring of 2016, we were commissioned to submit a proposed identity for Cleveland’s newest old park, Public Square. The historic civic space was launching a renovated park and thoughtful redesign by James Corner Field Operations unifying a 6-acre expanse of urban green space.
"What attracts people most, it would appear, is other
people," William H. Whyte. Our approach was to position the square as a modern-day public space for the people. Rooted in simple shapes, specifically a circle and a square, we created a logotype that would be welcoming to all. We embraced a vibrant color palette to convey the spirit of a shared green space. We created a systematic brand that would build out across various media including signage, print and digital advertising, product, radio and television.
